We don’t charge you twice to use your own mail
A lot of inbox apps sell you a cheap-looking plan, then quietly restrict it to read-only or basic viewing — real actions like replying, drafting, and organising only unlock on their most expensive tier. voltexai.app doesn’t do that split. Every plan, including Free, gives you full read and write access to every mailbox you connect. What you pay for as you grow is capacity — how many mailboxes, how far back your history goes, how much AI — never whether you’re allowed to actually use your own inbox.
Why BYOK?
Most AI email tools also bundle AI cost into your subscription, mark it up, and ration it with a monthly quota. Connect your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key in Settings and AI features run on your key, at your provider’s real cost — and on Standard and Pro, we don’t put an artificial ceiling on how much you use it. You’re already paying your own provider for the calls; we’re not going to charge you a second time by making you count them.

FAQ
Is Free actually usable, or just a preview?
It’s a real plan — one full mailbox with reply, draft, and organise all working, not a locked demo. The only Free-tier limits are 30 days of history and a 25-action/month AI allowance.
What does “fair use” mean for BYOK AI on Standard and Pro?
There’s no visible monthly number to run out of — you’re paying your own AI provider for every call, so we don’t ration it. Fair use just means our systems watch for obvious automated abuse (scripted mass requests, not real usage) rather than metering ordinary use. Almost nobody will ever notice this exists.
Why does Managed AI have a monthly cap but BYOK doesn’t?
Managed AI runs on our account, so its cost is ours — the cap keeps that predictable and keeps the add-on price low. BYOK runs on your own key and your own bill, so there’s nothing for us to ration.
Why does my history only go back 30 days by default even on Standard or Pro?
30 days is the starting point on every plan so new mailboxes sync quickly. You can extend it any time in Settings, up to your plan’s maximum — 6 months on Standard, 12 months on Pro.
What’s the difference between BYOK and Managed AI?
BYOK means you supply your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key — AI features run on your account, at your cost, with no markup and no monthly ceiling on Standard/Pro. Managed AI means we supply the key for a small monthly add-on instead, with a monthly action allowance.
Can I switch between BYOK and Managed AI?
Yes, any time, from Settings — it’s a toggle, not a plan change. (Managed AI billing via Stripe is not live yet; when it is, switching on Managed AI will add the add-on to your subscription.)
What happens to my mail history if I downgrade or shrink my sync window?
Your previous history window stays active until your current billing period ends (for a plan downgrade) or immediately starts a 7-day warning (if you manually reduce your sync window in Settings). After that, anything outside the new window is removed from voltexai.app — your mail provider still has the originals.
